Anyone knows the trick to get images show in google search next to your website link?
I got many URLs of my website ranking on page one in Google search. Sometimes Google shows images next to my web page listing in Google search but its not consitent. I’ve tried to add image schema markup as suggested by a forum member here. It did help to get my image shown next to web page on google.com, but Google doen’t choose the extact same image always. I’ve a wedding photography site and it has 5 images. Google randomly chooses any one out of them, and sometime its just no image displayed.
Which method should I use so that Google will pull the extact and correct image I want to show along with my web page? Will using the largest image help?
Google Image SEO is quite easy. Just use matching filename about the image. If the image is about wedding photography use something like: cityname-wedding-photography.jpg and use a single larger resolution image. I mean use image beyond 1200 px width and that will be considered by Google to show next to your web page result. Also, add schema markup for your business and image schema too. Google also considers the OG (open graph) image tags. Use your most important image on the webpage in that tag. This method helps Google to pull the most relevant image and show ing search results next to your website listing.
Google decides most of the time to select and place the image from your webpage. Ofcourse, you can direct Google to relevant image by adding schema and open graph meta tag but you can’t force it to show particular image always.
Image optimisation for google includes compressing the image, using right filename matching the content of the image, and adding alt text on web page. Also using schema for webpage and image will help Google pick relevant images to show next to your website listing on google search.
