Grew my eCommerce site’s traffic to 300 clicks a day and 8K impression in Google search
I grew an eCommerce site’s traffic in just 24 hours – Now reaching 300 clicks a day. It’s a small business eCommerce shop. First I use Shopify store but it never got any real clicks from users on Google.com – so I swtiched to Website Builder from The-Online.com and create a new online store that came with premium SEO tools with on-page optimization which instantly helped me to boost my eCommerce store’s traffic getting ~300 click a day as reported in Google Search Console. This traffic has been increasing since then. Daily impression has also risen to about 10K.
Here’s what I did to boost traffic to my eCommerce Shop:
- Keyword Targeting for Buyer Intent : Used the SEO tool that came with Website Builder to suggest keywords that bring buyers and new leads, not just website visitors.
- On-Page SEO Fixes : I optimized titles, H1, and added internal linking from my blog post to product pages. I seen 5x boost in impressions that converted to clicks from real buyers in Google search console.
- Technical SEO Fix : Wrote one new blog article daily related to my eCommerce niche. The site has 15 products. So I wrote 3-5 articles and inter-linked them for each product. Thus product pages started gaining high position in Google SERP.
- Authority Backlinks and PR : Got relevant backlinks from DA50+ website related to my product’s niche. Started writing short articles on my Facebook page and X/twitter posts. This helped to gain weight to my product pages as they were linked from authority sites.
- Consistency : Made small improvement weekly. Dropped and redirect those webpages and blog post which had zero impression. Wrote articles addressing buyers’ issues. Added FAQs to product pages. The result was boost in clicks in a day!
Most ecommerce stores don’t lose because of keywords or backlinks – they lose because their product and category pages are basically the same as everyone else. I added Unique product content (not manufacturer copy – real use cases, FAQs, comparisons), Faceted nav / internal search control (huge for crawl + rankings), and onversion signals (reviews, trust, pricing clarity) that helped my online shop boost ranking in Google and even Bing SERPs in a week.
Authority signals helped my e-commerce site grow fast. Though I didn’t get 300 clicks a day suddenly, but the boost was gradual when I got one PR published and few authority backlinks for high DA sites. Made to page one from page three for five of my products I sell. Also I agree that shopify seo doen’t helps and neither shopify stores rank well in google search. I too shifted away from shopify.
Yeah.. with recent Google core algo update many shopify and wix stores and ecommerce shops built on them lost rankings. I’ve found shopify store load quite slowly that result in loss of leads and sales. The-Online.com website builder is quite fast compartaively and its hosted on AWS datacenters worldwide.
