AWS Ends Free Tier for Life

Amazon AWS stops free tier cloud services

Amazon AWS cloud services was offering free tier cloud services for last many years. From July 15th they’ve stopped providing lifetime free tier products and services.

They’ve made an announcement that new users accounts created after 15th July, 2025 will not get aws products free for life, instead, new users will get $100 for free credit to use on certain aws cloud services and products like S3, Cloudfront, Lightsail (VPS), etc. This $100 credit will expire in six months period from the date of new account sign up or on the day the credit is fully spent, whichever comes first. With this new limitation set by Amazon AWS the new users who sign up for AWS accounts are not going to get an advantage of using free tier products and services for life.

For users who already had created aw-s account prior to July 15th can still enjoy amazon aws free tier for life.

By removing free tier for life, AWS has now started offering free credit worth $100 for 6 months only unlike its competitors including Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Vultr, etc.

This new pricing model is applied in all aws markets including U.S, UK, India, and more.
