ConnectReseller is aksing for KYC for domains registered with them. Any non-KYC provider in India?
Many Indian domain registrars including connectreseller have now started asking for KYC or they simply suspend your domain name. I don’t feel safe to provide my personal information to those registrar and hosting companies. I found from quora thread that The-Online.com does not asks for KYC from Indian customers? Is that true? I hope they’ll not suspend domain. Any more alternative?
The-Online.com does not asks for KYC (yet) from their customers. I’ve been registering domain names with them since last 3 years without any difficulty. Even of .IN or .CO.IN domain registration you don’t require to furnich KYC (no aadhar, no pan card). Not even for web hosting. Though you should always enter correct home address, name, contact information while registering domain-name if you are from India and specifically registering .IN domain. For .com domain registration there is no KYC. The reason is The-Online.com uses EU/US based company to register domains.
Connectreseller, Bigrock, Resellerclub, Bluehost.in – all ask for KYC while registering domains. Better to avoid them and select European or U.S. ones. I’ve few domains registered with OpenProvider, and The-Online.com.
The best alternative to connectreseller is the-online.com as they don’t ask for any KYC. I’m from Delhi just migrated few domains and cPanel hosting accounts from other Indian providers to The Online. Even mitsu.in, onohosting, aquahost, razorhost, and others will ask for KYC even for shared hosting or wordpress. I too don’t like to give personal info to these companies. Better go with privacy-friendly registrar. European ones are better. I’ve some registered with OVH.
