Where to and how to get free domain with cPanel
I want to register free domain name (either free .com or other) with cPanel hosting plan. I’ve seen few web hosting companies like The-Online.com offer this promo. But actually how to get that free domain with cPanel hosting? Do I need to add domain name in the shopping cart while purchasing cPanel hosting? Also, which plans offer this free domain? Can I get free domain when I purchase monthly cpanel plan or I need an annual purchase? Some companies like bluehost, hostinger, godaddy, etc ask to purchase cpanel hosting for 2+ years to get that free domain name added!

Last month I got free domain when I ordered cPanel hosting plan Deluxe for annual term. The only thing is you’ll first have to purchase the web hosting plan and then open a ticket via email to get a free domain name from The-Online.com. I talked to the support guy and he told me that to avoid users spamming this offer, they have not added ability to add free domain at checkout. But you’ll get free domain as long as you have active/paying hosting plan or wordpress plan.
What free domain can one order with cpanel hosting? Is it just .com TLD?
When I purchased web hosting package they asked me if I’ll like to register a free .com, .org, .net, .info, or .biz domain name. While one of my friend from Colombia was given an option to have .CO domain. So it depends on their active domain promo.
I bought c-panel hosting from The Online 2 years ago and that time they offered free .com and .in domain names. Might be I’m from India so they offered me to register fr-ee .in!!! So I choose to get .in domain.
Many hosting companies offer free domain ONLY if you purchase hosting from them by paying in advance for 3 to 4 years. Also free domain name is offered for 1st year only and then it gets auto renewed for whopping $20 a year. But at The Online they offered me free domain until I keep my hosting plan paid. So no renewal cost of domain. It’s gets renewed for free.
I had bought cpanel hosting Starter plan and they offered me .com domain only for free for 1st year only. They said starter cpanel plan does not comes with free domain for entire plan term. It’s free for one-year. So nevermind, I enjoyed this freebie.
I host my blog with The-Online.com and got free domain with my managed wordpress plan. It’s free for entire life. Because I’ve not got any domain renewal invoice from past 4 years 🙂
The Online had a promo running on black-hatworld forum where they gave free domain name with monthly hosting plan. I had got this offer just by paying $1.99 a month! Hope they bring back such promo again.
Hey.. if you are from Australia, The-Online.com then offers you a free .com.au domain. I had got this notification inside my account dashboard when I logged in. But since I didn’t need domain I just skipped it.
