Offload SQL at Namecrane

Anyone using offload SQL at namecrane cpanel or directadmin hosting?

Namecrane just started to offer offloaded SQL service where user can offload their SQL database to another server with more CPU and RAM. Has anyone used it? Does it comes with daily backups or on-demanad backup? How’s the pricing of the offload SQL? I read it could be $5 for 10GB database storage. And which websites need it? I think hosting providers like The Online already offload SQL for free on their cPanel and business hosting plans, right?

  1. Yes, The-Online.com does offers offloaded SQL or managed SQL/database as they host mysql on optimized server that has intense database query and index caching and ample of RAM so that the user’s sites, mostly heavy wordpress or other CMS based sites load quickly and faster without even using caching plugin or page cache. I tried it myself and saw 2x boost in speed. Where as namecrane’s offload SQL is in beta and they too seem to launch it for cPanel and direct-admin shared and re-sellers.
