Does a backlink from cPanel.net helps to boost rank?
I’ve want to put a backlink on cpanel (cpanel.net) forum site. I’ve seen some users place link to their sites on threads/post. Those backlinks are nofollow, ugc ones. My question is about this SEO tactic of placing nofollow backlinks on high authority (high DA) sites like cPanel.net forum / support portal / partner directoy and cpanel-blog going to help boost the rank of the linked website or not? I don’t see such link passing link juice or PR since those are not dofollow links. But still they pass a vote or a liking in eyes of search engines like Google and Bing. How do you look at this?
You are right. A nofollow backlink is still a vote towards your website. Google may or may not follow it, but they surely consider it as a vote without passing the link juice. You can place backlinks on cpanel website like their forum or cpanel blog in comments section. Even mention of your brand name is now useful in getting citations in AI searches like chatgpt and google gemini (AIO). Place relevant backlinks from cpanel blog or forum. A link pointing to discussion about cpanel license, pricing, features, bugs, or something related to cpanel help on your site will be considered as a valueable link.
