VPS Hosting Better than Shared Hosting

I found VPS Hosting outperforms Shared web hosting

I had earlier bough cpanel shared hosting plan from godaddy and earlier one from bluehost. But were working fine though had serve limits on disk I/O, IOPS, and server resources like CPU and RAM. As my website’s need outgrown the limitations of shared hosting but I wasn’t ready for expense and management of a dedicated server, I rather bought VPS hosting plan from The Online. The price and features of VPS are compelling middle ground.

For those who don’t know exactly what is a VPS? A VPS is a virtualized server that mimics a dedicated server within a shared physical server. Using virtualization technology, a single physical server is partitioned into multiple virtual servers, each with its own dedicated resources like CPU, RAM, and storage. This creates an isolated environment for each user, providing greater control and performance compared to shared hosting.

As soon as migrated (upgraded) to VPS Hosting from shared one I got boost in performance of my websites. The sites were loading fast, had ample of CPU and RAM for utilization, and performance was consistant for last 5 months. There as no more limitations on disk I/O and mysql database connections which helped my site load 4x faster on a virtual private server than on shared web hosting.

Plus there was greater control as I used litespeed webserver, Alamalinux and latest stack that provided the need security, firewall, etc. The only disadvatange of VPS is that you need some technical knowledge. And if you are new to VPS or don’t want to peep into technical aspects of the server then just buy Managed VPS Hosting plan from The Online. Since’s its Managed VPS, its like a fully managed server (just like shared hosting) and comes with cPanel control panel. So you can easily work on your website at frontend and never worry about server OS updates, firewall, opening closing port, etc. All is taken care by their server management team – free for you. While VPS hosting offers similar functionality at much lower cost than getting a dedicated server, they are slightly costly than shared web hosting. So if you have budget, and high traffic website, then opt-in for ordering a VPS hosting as it is more beneficial than dedicated or shared hosting.

What are the other pros and cons you find in using a VPS? Which hosting provider’s VPS do you think is the best?

  1. Yes, VPS hosting outperforms shared web hosting. With dedicated resources, your website or application enjoys consistent performance without being affected by other users on the same physical server. This leads to faster loading times and improved stability.

  2. I’m using VPS plan from The-Online.com in their Europe data-center. It’s a DMCA ignored location and quite cheap than other offshore VPS hosting providers like alexhost or vsys. Well, VPS hosting provides root access, allowing you to customize server settings, install specific software, and configure the environment to your exact needs.

  3. In my personal experience a VPS providers better and increased security than shared hosting. Isolation from other users minimizes the risk of security breaches originating from neighboring websites. I’m having few VPS with contabo and rack-nerd which I will be migrating to The Online. Also I’ve VPS with lease-web which I am keeping. It’s in Singapore.

  4. in comparison with shared web hosting, a VPS providers more scalability. As your needs grow, you can easily scale your VPS resources, such as RAM and storage, without requiring a complete server migration. You can get upto 256 GB RAM and hosts 1000s of sites on single VPS. I’ve one with The-Online.com and I’m using it for my reseller web hosting business. Hosting about 800 sites.

  5. VPS hosting I bought here offers a balance between performance and cost, making it a more affordable option than dedicated servers while providing significantly better performance than shared hosting. I downgraded from dedi-cated hosting as I was paying for not using to resources to VPS hosting where I pay what I use. Also you can try cloud vps providers like vultr, digitalocean, akamai linode, or oracle cloud. Just avoid amazon aws, its too slow.

  6. Any one has black friday VPS deals? something like VPS for $1 a month? I really need a low end VPS to host my proxy and private VPN.
