Just started blogging need help on how to blog well
I just created my first website here using The Online‘s shared web hosting with one-click WordPress. I was previously using Google’s Blogspot but took a break from blogging as I was not seriously into it. Now this year I’ve thought to seriously blog. I am into technology and gadgets so probably my blog will focus reviews, opinions, and news about tech niche. I am new to blogging and will appreciate guidance from bloggers who are active here.
I’ve a few questions regarding blogging :
- What should I focus for first 2-3 months? I will write 1 or 2 blog posts a day. Is that okay?
- What on-page SEO basic should I implement on my web blog? Any suggestion about SEO plugins? WordPress seems to have lots of SEO plugins. Which is better and cluter-free for blogging?
- What should be my content strategy as a beginner?
- How long/short the blog posts should be? Google and AI chatbots love which type of content recently?
- Common mistakes I should avoid while writing and publishing blog.
- Should I use AI to generate posts/articles or write them manually?
Bloggers, please tutor me so I can also write well and earn money online. I’ve learnt many high earning bloggers are here on this forum. Any advice will be helpful.
Focus on quality content that is helpful, fresh, and different from other tech blogs. Google loves unique content. Mostly tech news sites got hit in Google Core Updates because they just republish the news without any new addition to it.
Also, WordPress is quite fast and has easy to design pages/posts. So use any free/paid theme for your WordPress blog. Good that you selected The-Online.com to host your blog. I too have moved my wordpress.com hosted blog to The Online last year and so instant boost in rankings in Google search due to less oversold servers, better and faster servers than what wordpress.com uses.
For blog SEO you can try an free wp plugin like AISEO or Rank Math or Yoast’s WordPress SEO. The eaisest is AISEO its like set and forget. Rank Math has more customizing options. But for a new blog you might not need all those features. Just have a sitemap.xml file, any security plugin, and link your blog to GSC (google search central) and start writing posts.
I would suggest 4-5 indepth posts about certain topic in technology niche. Build pillar pages. You’ll get some advice about it on reddit or quora. Concentrate on one or two topics only. For example write about smartphone or Android OS, etc.
Avoid using Google’s Indexing API. Avoid buying links from marketplace like BlackHatWorld or Fiverr. Those links will rather penalyze your site in long-run. For 1st two to three months just write content that satisfy user-intent.
You can use AI chatbot like chatgpt or gemini to research new topics or get idea of those topics. But don’t use fully AI generated articles on your blog.
