Some ISP including Jio, Vi, Tikona, ACT Fibernet are blocking the entire Linktr.ee domain
Linktree (linktr.ee) is a popular link-in-bio service which offers free and paid profile pages or bio pages which allows users to share multiple links through a single URL. Linktree domain www.linktr.ee is un-accessible in India as reported by many users who are using Jio, Vi, ACT fibernet and Asianet as ISP/telecom providers. It seems there is no official court order to block linktree domain name in whole or part. Also, neither Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) nor Department of Telecommunications (DoT) claimed that they’ve issued any orders to block linktr.ee domain. So if there are no official orders from the Government of India or Indian court then why Indian ISPs are blocking linktr.ee website?
Even I’ve my link in bio page on linktree and I can’t access it from Vodaphone Idea (VI). But using a VPN I can access it. This shows that without any transparency or a valid court order the ISPs or concerned departments have indeed issued an order to block linktree domain. As a SEO Consultant I had put links on my linktree bio so that my clients could easily navigate to my projects as well as my social media profiles. But it seems that Jio and Vi users in India can’t browse linktr.ee domain.
