ICANN to Remove 60-Day Domain Transfer Lock

Domain transfer lock to go away!

ICANN has decided to remove the 60-day mandatory domain transfer lock policy opted by many domain registrars. In next few months domain registrants will be able to transfer domains between registrar quickly. Why transfer lock is to be killed? The reason behind this is : many domain registrants want to consolidate domains with single registrar. Like today I am having over 220 domains registered at The-Online.com and managed here. As a domain investor I do buy domains in auctions and marketplaces like godaddy afternic, namejet, sedo, namesilo aftermarket and so I need to club my all domains under one registrar quickly for ease of management and thats what now will be possible with this transfer lock going away!
