Google Core Update in December Starts
Google Search just announced that they are rolling our core update starting today. This Google december 2024 core update (algorithm) will rollout may take upto 2 weeks to complete. The news comes just a week after Google finished rolling out the November core update. According to the announcement, Google uses “multiple ranking systems that do different things” and is “always looking at ways to improve these systems to show better results.”
I would suggest that website owners who notice changes in site traffic following the core update are advised to look closely at Google’s update-specific guidance, which can be found via the Google Search Status Dashboard.
Core updates happen multiple times per year. Core updates can have significant, broad changes to Google’s search algorithms and systems, which is why Google announces them. This is the fourth core update of the 2024 year.
Google wrote on X, “The Dec. 2024 core update is rolling out, and we expect it will complete in two weeks. If you’re wondering why there’s a core update this month after one last month, we have different core systems we’re always improving. This past blog post explains more:”

About Google core update:
“There’s nothing new or special that creators need to do for this update as long as they’ve been making satisfying content meant for people. For those that might not be ranking as well, we strongly encourage reading our creating helpful, reliable, people-first content help page,” Google said previously.
