Domain registration prices to go up starting December
Seems the cheap pricing will not stay forever as unstoppable domains will be increasing .com domain registration pricing by around $1 (99 cents to be exact) on their .com five dollar friday promo and also on regular domain registrations for non domainer club users. Since the .com registry price itself is beyond $7 those registrars selling below this price are selling at loss for a marketing reason so one should not expect forever discounted price of registerring or renewing domains.
Even godaddy discontinued their cheap registration promo and their renewal coupons are gone. Dynadot also advertises .com promo once in a blue moon. Which registrar are you using for domain investing? Not just considering price factor, but overall service, support and features offered.
