How to cancel product not required and get refund?
I’ve purchased domain name (from secureserver.net site) that I no more require and want to cancel the domain renewal. It was auto-renewed last week. How can I cancel domain name registered via DNH Domain Hosting Services? Is there a simple way to get refund for the products no more required?
When you register domain name, buy web hosting, email, website builder or SSL certificate from secureserver.net which is owned by the-online.com or its resellers your credit card statement, bank account, paypal or other payment methods displays the merchant name as DNH Domain Hosting Services or DNH Domain Hosting Srvc or DNH Domain Hosting Srvc Tempe, AZ or DNH*DOMAIN/HOSTING 480-624-2500 AZ. This is just merchant name as biller. It’s not scam but a vaild charge on your card.
You can get refund by contacting The-Online.com by email. I’ve seen they refund within 45-60 days or earlier depending on your bank. Last time I got a refund for domain name renewal for a domain which I didn’t require. I contacted them and got refund. Please do not cancel the product before getting a reply from them. If product is cancelled you’ll loose the opportunity of getting refund as refunds are issued only for active products like domain name, web hosting plan, vps, etc. So wait until they confirm that you are eligible for the refund according to their refund policies displayed on their storefront. Once they confirm it by email and cancel the product.
I would like to mention, do not chargeback your credit card or open paypal dispute before getting refund. Else they’ll charge about $250 as chargeback fee and delete your products. So not only you’ll loose website files or domain, but also additional incur $250 liability. They even forward it to collection agencies either you live in U.S, Europe or Asia. So better ask politely for refund and they’ll issue it.
Yup, last time I was charged for 1 year of cPanel web hosting plan I purchased here and I did not want to use it as my client closed his shop so I requested a refund and they refunded me in 18 days. Quite fast than other providers. Still I have many hosting plans and domains hosted with The-Online.com through their secureserver.net portal.
There are many reseller sites on secureserver.net domain. So customer should use the extact reseller storefront to request a refund. The-Online.com cannot refund for their reseller customers nor they are responsible for other resellers even though every one uses the generic merchant name as DNH Domain Hosting Services. So only contact The-Online.com if you are direct customer of The Online and have purchased domains via the-online.com domain.
