1. Backlinks are must and important for ranking any website or inner webpage of the site. Search engines like Google and Bing treat backlink as a vote. Each backlink counts as a vote to your site. People link to your website or blog when they like it or when they want their users to get read more useful information on a topic they’ve covered. So a backlink suggests that someone on the internet has found your information or webpage helpful. Backlinks have been used to increase ranking of websites and blogs. Only quality backlinks from relevant webpages matter the most. If you get single backlink from high authority site like Techcrunch or Wikipedia or even a government site then it is has more value than getting 5000 profile or comment backlinks from low-quality churn and burn blogs like blogspot or wordpress.com subdomains or some forums or bookmarking sites. Try to get few quality and relevant backlinks from those sites who are authority in your niche.

2. Quality matters the most. You can increase your site’s ranking from getting single backlink from DA 90 site like Etsy or Patreon, etc than getting from forum profile backlinks from 1000 forums. Also, backlinks from sites in same niche or even same local blog (if your business is local) outperforms and gives more value than getting a random backlink from a PBN. Even getting a backlink from free/paid press release sites like Globenewswire, etc. can give you quite good exposure as lots of newspaper and media sites will re-publish the press release and thus more link authority you can build. Concentrate on quality over quantity. And yes, backlinks are must as they show interest in your webpage or content.

4. You can rank your website without backlinks in AI search engines like chatgpt or gemini if your site has build authority and is a reputable brand. People mentioning your brand and website / domain name in their blog, forums, reddit, quora, etc without linking your site actually, can also help in getting citations from AI services and even Google AIO. But, if you have backlinks from authority sites like Bloomberg, Forbes, Tom’s Hardware, Wikipedia or any Government department site then that will add more value and thus AI search engines will cite and link your website more often and also traditional search engines like DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yahoo, Google, etc. will also rank your site higher. Just don’t buy links from blackhatworld marketplace and fiverr sellers as most of them sell low quality backlinks. Hire a digital agency who can offer you reliable, HQ, authority backlinks that sounds real, in-content and are placed for years on third-party sites.

5. Try to get direct back-links from relevant website. For example if someone likes your products and they write a review on their site about it they’ll certainly link to your product page. This counts as relevant backlink and they are must. Backlinks to homepage are good but diversify the backlinks to your product pages which will help them to rank higher in google search.

6. Dofollow backlink will pass the juice and value to your webpage. Get them by offering something for free or you can buy backlinks from service providers. Even Wikipedia nofollow backlinks helps to signal the searchbots that your site is relevant to the topic. Slowly build backlink authority. I mean drip-feed backlinks to search engines. Don’t index 1000s of backlinks on day one. Let them index naturally or you may be penalized by search engines.

They look natural and are gained naturally, like customers who bought from your digital products store are linking back to your site by writing a review of it or comparing your product with that of a competitor, etc. Send a press release will also help in gaining local / national / international coverage for your brand.

8. Backlinks can still make a strong impact because they signal trust and authority to search engines like Google and Bing. Even a small number of solid, relevant links can help a page move higher compared to a site with no link profile at all. They’re not a magic shortcut, but they do remain one of the key factors that influence how quickly and how strongly a page can rank.
