With 90% drop in traffic Techmaniacs.gr got hit
I was just analysing traffic of the popular technology site in Greece, techmanicas.gr which is showing around 90% drop in their website traffic coming from Google search including Google news and Discover traffic. While other users reported on various communities that they saw 35% to 50% recovery after the major Google HCU update last year! While many sites recovered, but few tech related sites and even science related sites got hit. There are few sites from India, Singapore, and even Germany that show a major drop in traffic. But many media sites, small blogs related to single niche are seeing recovery in this June 2025 core update. I suppose sites should only concentrate on single topic to claim their authority and get traffic from Google.
Techmaniacs was quite good site writing about smartphones and android. IDK why they got hit? May be they ventured into Science field like writing an article about stone from Mars. Same thing happened with geeksforgeeks site couple of month ago. The Indian site wrote tons of articles about top movies, and songs, etc which was totally unrelated to their main niche “coding” and computes. So they were not only hit but got entire site de-indexed. Later when they removed the spam content then they were indexed again. I think that seems a manual action?

they wrote on various topics like mobile, smartphone, android, windows phone, pc, windows 11, ios, gaming, console, nintendo, playstation, xbox, electronic gadgets like smartwatch, earpods, ear phone, audio, video like tv, cosmote tv, dth, streaming, netflix, apps, and reviews about gaming, mobile phone unboxing, cars, autos, etc. in short covering latest launches in tech and internet industry.
