How do you split content topics between traditional SEO and Answer Engine Optimization?

Spliting Content Topics between SEO and AEO / AISEO

Hello SEO community! I am managing content for a mid-sized business website, and I am struggling to figure out how to plan my topics. Some keywords have high monthly search volume in Google, but users are increasingly getting direct answers from AI search engines without clicking links. When you build a content calendar today, how do you decide if a specific page should target traditional search engine rankings or if it should be built specifically for AI answer engines? Are you writing completely separate pages for each format, or can one single page rank for both standard search results and AI citations? What framework do you use to plan your content strategy?
