Does a Domain Transfer Fee include 1 year Extension?

Will I get free 1-year extension on domain registration when I transfer domain?

Hi, I recently moved my domains (.dev) from porkbun to The-Online.com which was prepaid and set to expire in May 2026. But upon transfer I see the same date. Actually I should get 1 year free extension on domain transfer (I had got this earlier when I transferred few domains from godaddy to The Online). Has The Online stopped extending domain registration period? or there is some bug on the domain control center (dcc)?

  1. Hi Scrum, yes, domain transfer includes free 1-year domain registration extension PLUS all time remaining on your current domain registration period. You should give at least 24 hours to get the date updated to next year inside your dashboard / dcc. Or you can contact The Online’s support by email or phone and they’ll fix it if its an issue.

  2. Ok thanks. this helps. I can see the expiration date has been updated to year 2027 so yes, I got fr-ee 1 year extension with transfer fee.
