Google Indexed sites start displaying in Chatgpt
As of March, 2025 I’ve just found out that when I log in to chatgpt.com to search and get information on certain topics and keywords, Chatgpt has started showing citations and links from Google search index. That is, websites indexed on google search are now been displayed in Chatgpt as either links or mentions.
Earlier Chatgpt search was powered by Microsoft Bing since Bing has a stake in developing Chatgpt. But now it seems Chatgpt is favoring Google search index and citing links indexed in Google. This is a very important move from Chat-gpt and even from Google itself as they’ve allowed chatgpt to use their index. Plus webmasters, bloggers and content creators who rank well in traditional Google search have now seeing traffic coming from chatgpt.com too which is an advantage to them!
