CharityHost.org Alternative

Need better alternative to charityhost

I’ve had web hosting server from charityhost (charityhost.org) and their service and support is just unreliable plus the posts on lowendtalk forum suggests that charityhost snooped into their clients server without authorization and then read the important files and even suspended their client makes me worried not to host critical files or production-sites with them. Looking at their trustpilot reviews also raise suspicion. Is there any alternative to charityhost? How about hostbrr or racknerd? Also it seems the-online.com offers cPanel hosting, both shared and vps. How’s it? Is it offered in the U.S. too?

  1. Never heard the name charityhost. Just visited their site and found out they have nothing to do with charity, neither they are not-for-profit organization. Why would you buy hosting from them? just because someone opens up a new thread or post on lowendtalk? Go with reputable web hosts like buyvm or hostpapa, etc.

  2. I went through all drama threads about charityhost.org on lowendtalk forum. The charityhost’s clients commented that they’ve been bribed by charityhost asking them to write positive reviews about charityhost vps and other hosting service and in lieu of that they’ll get one-year extention of their vps plan or equivalent account credit. These emails are against trustpilot’s TOS. Charityhost is even flagging real reviews. I suggest if anybody is hosting with charityhost.org, take your backups as charityhost has been banned on lowendtalk. Even people are raising questions and concerns on lowendspirit forum.

  3. Wow, snooping files is too bad! You need a real privacy provider check coopershield.host!

  4. This company snoops your private data and bans you, then demands payment to access your data again.

  5. Update: I got an email from CharityHost that they’ll be adding a small administrative fee for sending invoice. Haven’t seen any web hosting company in the entire industry who levy a fee for sending out invoices. Well, how much fee is imposed by charityhost is still not known. I will find a better hosting provider for my servers rather than charityhost.

  6. there’s also site called host.charity which lots of information about charityhost’s activities.

  7. We have been deliberately targeted by the trolls in the LET Forum, who set a trap to suspend a troll account for violating the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), and subsequently used this suspension to launch a coordinated attack on us in the LET Forum. These attackers have even created websites with the intention of discrediting and disparaging our services, using these ploys to boost search engine rankings and traffic. Unfortunately, we are not the first host service provider to suffer from such means, nor will we be the last.

LET is an issue forum full of destructive trolls who are driven by harmful behavior. In addition, they continue to charge for service provider status despite LET having banned us. While we canceled our service in April this year, they charged again without authorization last month, forcing us to file a dispute with the bank.

Specifically, users actively led these attacks on other websites such as LET and trustpilot.com. This user repeatedly violated AUP with bait and honeypot tactics in an attempt to provoke a breach and damage our reputation. Users provocations have attracted troll groups and continue to harass us on LET and related platforms.

Here are some links showing these ongoing questions and their associated evaluations:

We urge everyone to be vigilant when interacting with Lowendtalk, as their forums have malicious actors who exploit such means.

Do not fall victim to trolls and their propaganda.

Administrators, moderators and the owners of LET are at least encourage trolling. It is likely that they themselves are these trolls, hidden under aliases in forums and elsewhere. Even LET “Administrator trolls”, they set up a malicious fake website to distort the facts and prevent the real situation from being understood. It’s propaganda. Believe it or not, but if you do believe it, you fell into the same troll trap.

They mocked and laughed at us on our support channels and chats, laughing and saying they wanted us to go out of business.

They even harassed my phone with text messages and threatened me, “We know where you live! You understand!”

LET keeps charging my bank and had to put a dispute at the bank. They are charging me $100 every 6 months for no service, being banned, after I cancelled. That is fraud and theft.
