Need better alternative to charityhost

I've had web hosting server from charityhost (charityhost.org) and their service and support is just unreliable plus the posts on lowendtalk forum suggests that charityhost snooped into their clients server without authorization and then read the important files and even suspended their client makes me worried not to host critical files or production-sites with them. Looking at their trustpilot reviews also raise suspicion. Is there any alternative to charityhost? How about hostbrr or racknerd? Also it seems the-online.com offers cPanel hosting, both shared and vps. How's it? Is it offered in the U.S. too?

  1. Never heard the name charityhost. Just visited their site and found out they have nothing to do with charity, neither they are not-for-profit organization. Why would you buy hosting from them? just because someone opens up a new thread or post on lowendtalk? Go with reputable web hosts like buyvm or hostpapa, etc.

  2. I went through all drama threads about charityhost.org on lowendtalk forum. The charityhost’s clients commented that they’ve been bribed by charityhost asking them to write positive reviews about charityhost vps and other hosting service and in lieu of that they’ll get one-year extention of their vps plan or equivalent account credit. These emails are against trustpilot’s TOS. Charityhost is even flagging real reviews. I suggest if anybody is hosting with charityhost.org, take your backups as charityhost has been banned on lowendtalk. Even people are raising questions and concerns on lowendspirit forum.

  3. Wow, snooping files is too bad! You need a real privacy provider check coopershield.host!

  4. This company snoops your private data and bans you, then demands payment to access your data again.

  5. Update: I got an email from CharityHost that they’ll be adding a small administrative fee for sending invoice. Haven’t seen any web hosting company in the entire industry who levy a fee for sending out invoices. Well, how much fee is imposed by charityhost is still not known. I will find a better hosting provider for my servers rather than charityhost.

  6. there’s also site called host.charity which lots of information about charityhost’s activities.
