Should I register .agt domain for my agentic web crawler or just stick with general TLDs?
There is a new hype in the town about .agt domain name extension/TLD. It’s not the ICANN-approved standard TLD but a NFT based blockchain TLD (decentralized) where users can register .agt domain for their agentic web and AI projects, particularly AI agents.
Their site agtdomains.com advertises “As AI agents become more sophisticated and autonomous, they need clear, memorable identities. .agt creates a unified namespace where agents can be easily discovered, trusted, and contacted.” Some .agt domain names are available like: Orchestrator.agt, KeywordAnalyst.agt, VideoTranscriber.agt, Evaluator.agt for various use-cases on freename.
But the main disadvantage is – these .agt domains cannot be opened with standard browsers like Chrome or Firefox neither those domains are accessible via standard internet, that is, those require alternate DNS root like Web3 domains to be reachable. Also, agt domains are not indexed by Google or Bing or even AI agents like chatgpt or perplexity. So shall I search and register traditional .com or .co domain for my agentic web / AI agent?
