This is the first 3-4 seconds where visitors stick their eyes and decide whether to browse the webpage further or close down the site or hit back button on the browser!
Tips to increase and get high dwell time for your website:
- Always put H1 or the Title of your page above-the-fold.
- Attach sticky table of contents or short summary at the top.
- Push down the ads towards second paragraph or on sidebar.
- Add author credits at the top in a single line. No paragraph.
- Use scroll-stopping image or some info graphic which attracts attention.
